Considered to be the greatest magician of all time, Isis' accomplishments include bringing Osiris back to life and helping him become a god in the underworld and forcing the god Ra to reveal his secret name to her. Canopic Jars were used to hold the organs of the dead after they were embalmed. The lids were commonly carved to resemble the four sons of Horus. The four organs housed by the jars were the lungs, the stomach, the liver and the intestines. Egyptians held no regard for the brain, which was discarded. Horus, was the son of Osiris, god of the underworld, and Isis, the most venerated goddess of Egypt. This triad was the one most widespread through Egypt.
